Today’s sweeties

Today we featured pure bred Rex buck Smoky. He is one of our breeding bucks who is new and has yet to give us babies through no fault of his own. He is a blue fawn harlequin. He is 8 months now. He weighs 8# 14oz. Our second darlin is Cherry. She is 22 weeks old and 9# 14 Oz. She is a doe breeder for the Gnomish Giant project. She is just going in for her first attempt to have babies that would be ready for mid winter. The does have not been very excited for breeding the last few months. I will tell you, it is a myth when they say they breed like rabbits because rabbits are actually very finicky when it comes to breeding. They have certain mates they like, they have certain times they want or don’t want to breed. They don’t go into heat so you can’t time them to breed them. You can breed them year round but have to try to catch them when they feel like it.
