My Inspiration
In my early years I delved deeply into essential oils, making lotions from already processed ingredients. After graduating college the first time, I was offered a teaching job at the local college in massage therapy, but I wanted to stay hands on with my clients. So in 2006 I started my own organic based day spa, and in 2007 expanded it into a nail and hair salon as well. The Spa was my pride and joy, won awards for excellence and was also featured in many magazines. I created all of the spa rituals myself and most of the products we used in the treatments as well.
In 2014 I reluctantly had to sell my spa because the excessive hours at the massage table wore my body out and I became permanently disabled.
This was a very hard change for me and so once again I turned to Natures Magick to calm the symptoms of autoimmune diseases and Fibromyalgia. What I came up with were signature Salves, tinctures, teas and more. Some of these were used on my clients in the spa, some were new.
So after a few years rediscovering my new limits, and adjusting my activity levels, I turned to online coaching, rabbitry and crafting when I am able as these are all things that I am passionate about.

Hi, I am Gnome!
I am the head Gnome (Nome) at Gnomestead. I was given this nickname as a child by my little brother because of my calling to learn from, use, protect and love all things from the earth and nature.
What we do
Every day we handle each bunny in the BunnyTree to make sure they are loved, happy and ready to meet you. Selective breeding is used to improve our lines as well as create our own breed of Pet Rabbit that has a commercial body type so can be used for meat also if desired. We have come a long way since the beginning in 2015.

Our goals for Gnomestead BunnyTree
Gnomestead BunnyTree is a family hobby. My husband Gideon, son Drake and I work together homesteading. Our daughter began the project with us but is now grown. We have two Boston Terriers named Bea Bea and Xena who also help keep the other animals happy with their big grins. They also help make the bunnies well socialized to be around dogs. New to the farm this year (2022) is our LGD Ghost. he is here to keep all the critters away, and our cat Jasper to help them adjust to all animal types.

We began breeding for purpose of raising food for our family. Before we even had our first litter of bunnies, we had requests from people to buy one of our babies. So the journey began. We soon decided after much researching that we wanted to create a better meat rabbit for personal use. We discovered that our bunnies were very popular as pets as well. So our goals have become intertwined. A superior Meat sized rabbit with a great temperament. Our bunnies have been adopted as Pets, Breeders, for shows (show breeds that we carry), as classroom pets at schools and as Therapy animals.
